A silver Tesla driving towards the camera on a motorway, surrounded by streams of glowing blue and orange data

Every modern Tesla stays connected to Tesla’s servers over Wi-Fi or mobile data. That is how it receives software updates, and how the Tesla app knows where your car is. What changed in recent years is that Tesla opened a formal, authenticated way for third-party apps to request specific data on the owner’s behalf. That interface is called the Fleet API.

How permission works

You stay in charge of access. When you connect CAILO Connect, you sign in on Tesla’s own page, not ours, and approve CAILO Connect as a third-party app. We never see or store your Tesla password, and you can remove access at any time from your Tesla account.

What the Fleet API gives us

With your permission, CAILO Connect receives the records it needs to keep your logbook: trips, odometer readings, charging sessions, battery state and, on supported cars, FSD (Supervised) usage. That is enough to build a complete trip-by-trip record with start and end odometer, date, distance and route.

What CAILO Connect does not do

CAILO Connect shows your car. It never controls it. We do not start, unlock, honk, flash or drive your Tesla, and we cannot see camera footage. The data we use is limited to what is needed to keep your records.

Why there is no hardware

Because the data comes from Tesla directly, there is nothing to install. No OBD dongle, no cables, no modifications, and no phone app that needs to be running in the background. Your Tesla already generates the data. CAILO Connect turns it into a record you can actually use.
